ACG Vying for Top Spot in Global Water Award Competition

ACG is delighted to have been shortlisted as a contender for Global Water Intelligence’s Industrial Project of the Year Award. Since its inception in 2006, the award has come to recognise the most remarkable feats in the international water industry, and ACG is proud to have been nominated for its contribution to the manufacturing solutions of the global pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries.

The competition for the Industrial Water and Wastewater category has narrowed down to four finalists, each of whom exemplify exceptional technical and environmental accomplishments. These finalists have showcased their dedication to the field with their innovative approaches to improve industrial water and wastewater systems. Their impressive feats are a testament to the power of creative thinking and hard work.

Aquatech and ACG have collaborated to revolutionize the industrial wastewater treatment industry with their full-scale plant integrating advanced vacuum membrane distillation for membrane evaporation and an agitated thin film dryer for dewatering. This innovative approach helps to generate 400 Kwh of green energy per day through biomethane production and achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) with an optimal energy footprint.

The ZLD project at ACG’s Dahanu plant also recycles and recovers more than 95% of water for reuse, meeting regulations and relieving local water stress. This combination of expanded granular sludge bed treatment, anoxic treatment for denitrification, membrane bioreactor and high-recovery RO is a revolutionary step towards a more sustainable future.

At Dahanu, ACG is taking part in a revolutionary water technology and service program to produce clean and safe water from difficult waste streams. Combining biological wastewater treatment and membrane distillation, this program is helping ACG reach its water sustainability goals and providing high-quality water for reuse.

The Global Water Summit in Berlin will be the setting for the highly anticipated announcement of the 2023 Global Water Awards on 9 May. Who will be the lucky recipients? The world eagerly awaits the unveiling of the winning projects that have been selected to receive this prestigious award.
