After nearly six years of successful service at Align Technology, Inc., Yuval Shaked, executive vice president and managing director of iTero scanner and services, is leaving the company to focus on personal and family matters. Even though he is leaving the company, he will remain a part of Align Technology President and CEO Joe Hogan’s staff and continue to support strategic initiatives and programs through 2023. Karim Boussebaa will be assuming the role of executive vice president and managing director of iTero scanner and services, effective immediately, on February 27.
Joe Hogan, President and CEO of Align Technology, paid tribute to Yuval Shaked, who announced his departure from the company in 2017. He praised Shaked for successfully scaling the iTero business to over 2,000 employees and delivering innovative technology and product advancements, such as the iTero Element 5D with NIRI technology. Hogan thanked Shaked for his leadership and invaluable contributions and acknowledged that his decision to leave had not been taken lightly. He further expressed his gratitude that Shaked will continue to support Karim, his successor, during the transition of the iTero business and product roadmap.
Karim Boussebaa is a healthcare executive with an impressive 28 years of industry experience and a successful history of fostering innovation and organizational growth. Having held various leadership positions at Philips Healthcare and GE Healthcare, Mr. Boussebaa most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Business Leader of Philips Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGTS), managing cath labs, mobile systems, and a vast array of clinical segments, in three global sites, and across 200 markets worldwide. With an extensive knowledge of regulations, Mr. Boussebaa is well-equipped to lead organizations in the ever-changing healthcare landscape.
