Carnevale, MD, PhD, FSIR to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Dr. Carnevale, hailing from Brazil, is the first representative to join the SAB from the region, and joins seven other KOLs from the US, three from Israel, and two from EU nations. The SAB has been assembled to focus on the regulatory and commercial paths for the LIBERTY® Robotic System, furthering Microbot Medical’s mission to be a leader in the industry.
Dr. Carnevale is a renowned vascular and interventional radiologist who leads the Vascular Interventional Radiology Section at Hospital das Clinicas – University of Sao Paulo Medical School Hospital (HC-FMUSP). His groundbreaking research on the treatment of lower urinary tract infection associated with prostate growth by Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) has been conducted at Harvard University and HC-FMUSP. Additionally, he has published extensively in this field and has presented his findings at various conferences worldwide.

Dr. Carnevale is a renowned global speaker and leader in the field of interventional radiology. He developed the Prostatic Artery Embolization (PAE) technique for HC-FMUSP patients to treat urinary obstructive symptoms, in collaboration with the Urology and Radiology Departments since 2008. He has organized and delivered training courses on the PAE technique in Brazil, Europe, and the United States, and has published several books, over 60 book chapters and more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. He is a member of several prestigious committees and societies, such as CIRSE and SIR, as well as a former President of the Brazilian Society of Interventional Radiology and Endovascular Surgery (SoBRICE). Dr. Carnevale has delivered over 220 lectures in congresses such as RSNA, ESR, SIR, CIRSE, GEST, WCIO, ESIR-CIRSE, SYNERGY, ISET, WAIS, and SoBRICE.
