Skanska Constructs USD 111M Medical Education Facility for The University of Texas at Tyler – A SEK 1.1B Investment in Tyler, Texas

Skanska and HGR General Contractors have teamed up to construct a state-of-the-art medical education building for The University of Texas at Tyler. The contract, worth a whopping USD 218M (SEK 2.2B) of which Skanska’s portion is valued at USD 111M (SEK 1.1B), is set to be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2022.

The UT Health East Texas Health System is thrilled to announce the construction of a five-story, 75,000 square meter medical education building. This state-of-the-art facility will provide interdisciplinary educational opportunities for medical students and serve as a cornerstone for the expansion of the graduate medical education program. With this new building, students and faculty have access to the most up-to-date learning resources and research opportunities.

The Medical Education Building is a state-of-the-art facility that will provide specialized clinical services, including exam rooms, specimen collection/processing, and imaging facilities. In addition, it features a central utility plant, a skybridge, and parking structures to meet the needs of its patients. This modern building will be an essential addition to the community, offering advanced medical care and convenience.
